What's new in the latest release of spotlightonspend (v1.4)

Our dedicated development team has been working hard to add new features and functions to the spotlightonspend platform. Here's an 'at-a-glance summary of what's in the latest release that will be posted to the Cloud on 26 January 2011:

For the General Public

  • The inclusion of sliders in the 'Spend by Category' pages enables the choice to look at spend for a range of months.
  • It is now possible to see how much was spent with an individual supplier in a given month (or range of months)
  • The Spend in Summary page can now show any periodic spend that has been published since the last financial year/analysis period has ended (if you are submitting periodic updates to spotlightonspend)
  • A page has been added to display the differences between core trade totals shown on the spotlightonspend website and the transaction totals from the download files.

For Public Bodies

Customers can notify a member of staff at Spikes Cavell to request that the transaction value threshold for their raw data download be changed to be even more transparent than policy requires.

"I'm really excited about the opportunities for transparency and it's something this government is utterly committed to. spotlightonspend demonstrates that, when innovative businesses work with far-sighted public bodies, we can inform the public, reduce costs and improve democracy both locally and nationally."
